Five Themes for Greensboro
Wade Burleson demonstrates his ability to cut to the heart of the matter in his post 5 Themes for Greensboro. In this post he lists five significant issues that may be addressed by the Southern Baptist Convention when it meets in Greensboro this June. I'm listing the issues here, but be sure to read Wade's commentary on each issue.
- The establishment of a framework for the free exercise of principled dissent.
- The institution of safeguards to prevent the manipulation of the nominating process of the Southern Baptist Convention.
- The forbidding of undue influence of agencies and institutions of the SBC by other agency heads.
- The resolution that trustees are servants of the Convention, not directors of the convention.
- The expression of belief that Southern Baptist Convention works best with a broad front door of cooperation.

Tim,
Thanks for the comments on my blog, and for listing my blog on yours.
You know we only live 20 mins from each other, don't you? We should get together sometime.
As to the 5 points - I agree that they are an excellent focus for us. We need to keep these 5 points at the forefront of the discussion from now until Greensboro.

I hope noone reads Art's comment without reading the entire post...;-)
Wes-
Art can't spell TULIP, so his "5 points" are safe.
Hey!
Yes, let's be sure that we're talking about the same 5 points! Once we address these 5 points, then we can split over. . . er, fight about. . . er, discuss those other 5 points.
Art,
Agreed, we ought to get together sometime. I'm on the other side of Bowling Green from you, going out toward Oakland. My schedule is pretty flexible, so just let me know when is a good time for you.
I just got back from BG. Too bad I got this after or we coulda ate something.
I'll check with you soon.

Yeah, it's me that can't spell it. If it was on Wheel of Fortune, I'd never get it.
